Peter is known for writing Beth, Easy Thing, and I Can't Stop The Rain.    He plays drums and sings a few songs.    Peter is nicknamed The Catman because of his cat makeup and is the oldest member of the group.

Just a few months before the release of his solo album in 1978, Peter was injured in a car accident.    That's why most of the songs on his solo album were songs recorded in his pre-KISS days.    Peter and his good friend Bob Ezrin wrote on song called Beth for the album Destroyer in 1976.    But that song was written a few years back as Beck.    Nonetheless, Peter had a huge success with the song.    Another version of Beth was done in 1988 with Eric Carr singing instead of Peter.

That's when he changed his name to Eric Carr.    His original Kiss persona was suppose to be the hawk but Eric changed it at the last minute for the Fox.  Eric's first album with Kiss wasn't a success.    It is considered the worst Kiss album by most fans.    But Eric wasn't to blame.    Paul and Gene wanted to experience a new musical style.    As you probably know, the album was a complete disappointment.     But Eric's second album, Creatures Of The Night, was one of Kiss' greatest albums even though it didn't sell well.

Eric co-wrote Under The Rose, Little Caesar and Escape From The Island.    Unfortunately, none of these songs is recognised as great Kiss songs.    Eric's influence was more musical than lyrical although he is considered a good singer.    Eric also co-wrote Don't Leave Me Lonely for bryan Adams' Cuts Like A Knife album.  He usually sang Black Diamond and Beth in concerts.

In 1991, just before the recording of Revenge, Eric was diagnosed with a malignant tumour to the heart.    He underwent an open-heart surgery and he was saying he was feeling a lot better.    So they re-entered the studio to record the album.    That's when Eric told them the cancer had spread to his lungs.    Eric died on November 24 1991 of cancer related brain haemorrhage at the age of 41.

Vinnie recently filled a lawsuit against Kiss.    He wants full ownership of the songs he wrote while in the band.    It might take years to settle this in court.    Gene Simmons recently said he never wanted to talk to Vincent again.  When Randy Rhoads died, he gave the "V-shaped guitar" copyright to Vinnie.
